Speend API Documentation

This portal holds everything you need to work with the Speend API.

If you run into trouble anywhere, contact your personal manager or write to the support chat.

Before reading the rest of the documentation, understand the difference between a Static wallet and an Invoice

The two ways to accept a payment behave very differently on underpayment and partial payment.

A static wallet is a permanent crypto address assigned to a customer or user once. The customer can send payments to it any number of times, at any moment, without creating a separate invoice for each payment.

An invoice is a one-off bill for a specific amount, created for a specific order.

When to use which

Scenario Type
Topping up a user balance, with no link to a specific amount Static wallet
Recurring deposits from the same customer Static wallet
Payment for a specific order or bill with an exact amount (online store, one-off service) Invoice
You need to track a partial payment and wait for the customer to pay the rest Invoice

Key differences

Static wallet

  • An insufficient amount means the transaction is silently ignored: no webhook, no crediting
  • Several payments to one address are not summed up — each one is checked on its own
  • Suits balance top-ups and repeated deposits

Invoice

  • On an insufficient amount the webhook arrives with the awaiting-top-up status
  • Several payments are summed up until the invoice is covered in full
  • An overpayment on an invoice is credited to the merchant automatically
